Lecturer in Healthcare Science
We are seeking two dedicated Lecturer in Healthcare Science (1x 1FTE and 1x 0.6FTE) with a passion for inspiring students and developing their expertise in the healthcare science field. Your role will involve:
- Designing engaging lessons
- Setting clear and achievable learning objectives
- Tracking student progress
- Providing constructive feedback
- Creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages practical learning and real-world application

Teaching Healthcare Science at South Bank Colleges is an incredibly rewarding career. You will empower our learners to develop essential skills in areas such as clinical science, laboratory technology, and healthcare diagnostics, helping them gain confidence in their abilities and prepare for rewarding career opportunities in the healthcare sector. You’ll foster critical thinking, encourage innovation, and cultivate a lifelong passion for healthcare science, all while making a tangible impact on students’ success in this vital field.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate must have the following:
- Nursing or Midwifery experience in a Health Care setting would be preferable
- A recognised Level 3 teaching qualification in Health and Social Care or subject specialism in Healthcare Science
- Experience of teaching Healthcare Science effectively in a further education college or significant experience within the sector
- Willingness to work flexibly to deliver a student-focused curriculum (including working up to two evenings a week)
- Commitment to an inclusive education
