Many of the Department’s 7000+ alumni now occupy senior positions in the media across the world. More than 300 postgraduate students study each year on the Department’s professionally focused, MA Journalism degrees, including the MA Broadcast Journalism.

We are seeking a Lecturer in Broadcast Journalism to join our teaching team and help educate the next generation of journalists at both postgraduate and undergraduate level. We are looking for candidates with significant experience as journalists, and a proven track-record – or demonstrated potential – to provide exceptional teaching and support to students. The successful candidate will have substantial experience of working in fast-paced broadcast newsroom environments, with current multi-platform journalism skills and the ability to teach practical, deadline-driven news production.
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant industry experience in broadcast journalism and multiplatform expertise.
- A genuine commitment to teaching excellence – providing creative, engaging lessons for students.
- Attention to detail, and being organised, fair and transparent in their approach to assessment.
- Team player qualities, willing and able to take on administration roles to help with the running of the department.

This is a part-time role.
The successful candidate will be appointed with an “Education” role profile which means they will focus on education and leadership/administration.
