Job Description
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Faculty of Technology, Arts and Culture is one of three Faculties in the University covering Engineering, Computer Science, Media Studies, Design, Architecture. The post will be based in the School of Engineering, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development. The School consists of three subject groups with the successful applicant being in the Mechanical and Aeronautical Subject Group, comprising the two largest undergraduate courses, Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to have the following attributes.

We are seeking an academic in the Mechanical Engineering area in the broadest sense but with particular emphasis on design, materials and structures.
Teaching and Learning
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality courses and learning materials.
- Employ innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
Research and Scholarship
- Conduct original research in the relevant field of study.
- Publish research findings in reputable academic journals and present at conferences.
- Seek and secure external research funding and grants.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects.
Academic Leadership
- Lead curriculum development and review processes.
- Participate in departmental and faculty meetings, committees, and administrative tasks.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the department.
