About Birmingham City University

BCU is a diverse and inclusive learning community of over 30,000 students from more than 100 countries. We are committed to providing a transformational educational experience, supporting world-class research, and fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment. Our student demographic reflects the rich cultural and ethnic diversity of Birmingham itself, with a significant proportion of students from racially minoritised backgrounds. This diversity is a strength, and it calls for a workforce that is equipped to challenge deficit narratives and thinking — those assumptions that position students from underrepresented groups as lacking rather than recognising their assets and potential.

Role Summary

Lecturers contribute to the development, implementation and review of teaching and assessments of specific modules within the context of the wider curriculum requirements. Lecturers will offer ongoing support and supervision for our learners and will contribute to research opportunities.

We are seeking an innovative, ambitious, and inspirational candidate to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be experienced in Prehospital/emergency care. It would be beneficial to have a track record in sharing your knowledge effectively to learners, in teaching or training, through your passion and commitment to education, training, research and high-quality service delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
