Lecturer in Performing Arts
Here at Brockenhurst College, we are looking to recruit a Lecturer in Performing Arts on a 0.19 FTE claims basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £32.35 - £42.03 per hour (inc holiday uplift).
We are a high-achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.
The Lecturer in Performing Arts Role:
The main purpose of the role is to continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching.
Responsibilities:
- Teach on BTEC and Eduqas Drama courses 0.19 post, although hours/courses may be subject to change and may be expanded to include Brock Xtra classes or growing student numbers.
- Provide pastoral support where required.
- Act as Course Leader, if requested.
- Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records and provide timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate.
- Work closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of students.
- Participate, as a team member, in the development of teaching methods and strategies towards an ethos of continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the self-assessment process and take responsibility for relevant actions and targets in the development plan for the curriculum area.
- Undertake such duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time.

Ideal Candidate:
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification in relevant subject area
- Appropriate teacher training qualification
- Excellent teaching skills
- Experience in delivering Performing Arts BTEC Programme at level 3 and A Level Drama or equivalent.
- Knowledge and understanding of current developments in practical PA and the PA business
- Evidence of working towards and achieving personal targets
- Empathy with and strong commitment to meeting the needs of individual students
