Are you passionate about science and dedicated to inspiring the next generation of learners?
We are seeking a Lecturer in Science to join our Health & Social Care division. In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring successful outcomes for our students and maximising their potential to progress towards their chosen destinations.
Key Responsibilities
Teach a variety of science courses including T-Level Health (Health-related components: Chemistry, Physics, and Biology), AQA GCSE Biology, and AQA GCSE Combined Science: Synergy for adults (evening classes). Plan and deliver engaging lessons while coordinating registrations and claims for science courses. Implement effective feedback and assessment systems, adapting teaching methods to ensure student progress. Maintain a professional learning environment, supporting student behaviour management according to College policies Contribute to curriculum innovation and development, continuously enhancing your teaching expertise. Deliver inspiring lessons that motivate learners, creating high-quality resources and schemes of learning aligned with college standards. Develop assessments and provide constructive feedback that addresses misconceptions and fosters skill development. Facilitate practical activities, workshops, and work placements as needed. Use the college’s virtual learning environment to encourage independent learning. Actively support students’ welfare by addressing attendance concerns and providing pastoral care.

Essential Criteria
Possess a minimum of a relevant Level 3 or higher subject specific qualification Possess a PGCE/Certificate of education or equivalent teaching qualification Track record of successful teaching experience across a range of levels including up to level 3 Must have experience teaching GCSE Science Detailed knowledge of relevant course subject matter and examination and assessment requirements Understanding of value added and the use of progress performance measures Experience of developing and maintaining external partnerships to enrich teaching and learning.
