About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our Information Systems & Operations Management Group at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS). This is an exciting opportunity to deliver world-class teaching in Operations Management and Project Management, supported by a commitment to pedagogic scholarship.
Based on the University’s Oxford Road campus, this is a full-time, permanent position. The role focuses on:
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
- Innovating curriculum design through case-based learning, simulations, and experiential approaches
- Connecting theory with practice, particularly in digital operations and project delivery
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching across relevant programmes
- Leading teaching in:
- Operations Management
- Project Management
- Business Improvement
- Service Operations
- Guiding student projects and offering academic and pastoral support
- Developing innovative teaching materials and contributing to programme curriculum enhancement

About You
Essential Criteria
- A doctoral degree (or near completion) or a relevant professional qualification
- Specialist knowledge in Operations Management and/or Project Management
- Practical university-level teaching experience, including designing and delivering modules
- A passion for engaging students and a skillset in diverse teaching and assessment methods
Desirable (but not mandatory) Criteria
- Expertise in:
- Digital operations
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Project scheduling
- Performance measurement
- Experience in programme development and student support systems
- Evidence of pedagogic scholarship or teaching innovation
- Engagement with professional bodies or industry partners
Appointment Level & Expectations
- Candidates may be appointed as a Lecturer (Grade 6/7) or Senior Lecturer (Grade 8), depending on experience.
- Senior Lecturer candidates should demonstrate:
- A strong track record in teaching excellence
- Curriculum leadership
- Pedagogic scholarship commitment
- Senior Lecturer candidates should demonstrate:
