The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Education Focussed) and Phase Coordinator – Rural role is a part-time, onsite position in Albury, New South Wales.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality medical education, coordinate a designated phase of the undergraduate medicine program at UNSW’s Rural Clinical Campus, support student learning, clinical placements, and assessment, and collaborate with Local Health Districts, Primary Health Networks, and faculty colleagues to enhance rural medical education engagement.
Key Responsibilities (by Level)
Lecturer (Level B)
- Primarily focused on teaching excellence
- Phase coordination, student support & assessment
- Curriculum delivery
- Collaboration with clinical/community partners
- Development of rurally-focused learning activities
- Support for local research and student projects
Senior Lecturer (Level C)
- Leadership in teaching excellence
- Advanced curriculum coordination & development
- Responsibility for innovation in rurally-focused content
- Provision of expert guidance to students and colleagues

No direct reports – Reports to: Director of Medical Education.
Required Qualifications & Experience
For Lecturer Level B
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree
- Fellowship of a Specialist Medical College (e.g., ACEM, ACRRM, RACP, RACGP, RANZCOG, RACS)
- Current NSW medical registration
- Evidence of professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge
- Clinical teaching proficiency with a commitment to rural medical education
- Experience in coordinating clinical education programs, assessments, and educational technologies
For Senior Lecturer Level C (additional criteria)
- Strong leadership experience with a track record in academic collaboration
- Expertise in a sub-disciplinary area, including module convenorship & committee roles
- Proven success in undergraduate teaching and rural health education
