About the Role
This post (fixed-term contract ending 1 April 2026) will support strategic initiatives in cybersecurity education, including:
- Designing and delivering high-quality courses (Levels 3–7) at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including degree apprenticeships
- Incorporating industry-driven innovations into teaching methods
- Researching and developing new teaching resources aligned with evolving security threats
- Contributing to the university’s cybersecurity research and student employability strategy
The ideal candidate will be:
🔹 Passionate and experienced in cybersecurity education, with a focus on student-centred learning 🔹 Knowledgeable in Subject Expertise (see preferred specialised areas below) 🔹 Versatile in delivery (foundation-level to postgraduate) 🔹 Innovative and collegial, able to collaborate with staff and champion student engagement

About You: Requirements & Benefits
Key Responsibilities
✅ Develop and deliver curricula (L3-L7) focusing on emerging cybersecurity trends ✅ Study the needs of current and prospective students, aligning teaching with technology and research advancements ✅ Engage with partners to embed workplace readiness and employability ✅ Research and instruct in emerging security topics (e.g., AI/quantum impacts) ✅ Report on programme taking, success, retention, and student satisfaction
Entry Requirements
- A PhD or professional doctorate in Computer Science or related discipline (with commercially focused industry experience; equivalent qualifications may be considered)
- A minimum of five years’ experience in postgraduate teaching and/or research-supported curriculum development
- Evidence of teaching excellence (student engagement, assessment innovation, employability outcomes)
- Strong leadership in fostering inclusive education
- Eligibility to work in the UK (Full requirements in attached Job Description)

Salary & Duration
- Senior Lecturer: £47,852 - £58,045 per annum (2023/24 rates)
- Fixed-term contract: 1 year (extensible up to 31 March 2027)
