About us
UCL STEaPP is a unique interdisciplinary department within an Engineering Faculty that bridges science, technology, engineering and public policy to maximise societal benefit through research, education and partnerships. Its educational portfolio spans undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.
About the role
This is a maternity cover, fixed-term part-time role with the earliest start date 1st September 2026 until 31st August 2027 in the first instance.
This role involves teaching and supporting STEaPP's BSc and online MSc programmes, including:
- Developing course materials
- Managing module administration
- Supervising student research projects
- Contributing to the "How to Change the World" programme
- Collaborating with academic and professional services staff across programmes
It also includes:
- Delivering teaching and learning activities
- Supporting student engagement through regular communication and office hours
- Overseeing assessment and feedback processes across the modules

- A PhD (or equivalent professional experience) in a field relevant to Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy
- Experience teaching and leading courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
- A strong commitment to inclusive, research-led education
- Experience designing innovative teaching materials and learning activities for both online and in-person delivery
- Proficiency with digital learning platforms
- Experience setting, marking and providing high-quality feedback on assessments
The role requires:
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to supervise and support students throughout their studies
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners
