Legacy Manager Overview Contract Type: 10-Month Fixed-Term Contract Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week Location: London, UK (Hybrid Working) Salary: £47,423 per annum plus comprehensive benefits Our client is seeking an experienced Legacy Manager to oversee the administration and management of legacy gifts and estates. This role is ideal for a professional with strong probate, trust, and legacy administration expertise who is passionate about ensuring supporters' final wishes are fulfilled while maximising income generation through effective legacy management. Working within a high-performing fundraising function, the successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of legacy cases, develop strong relationships with executors and stakeholders, and contribute to income forecasting and operational improvements. Responsibilities Manage a varied caseload of residuary, reversionary, discretionary, and complex legacy cases. Work closely with professional and personal executors to ensure estates are administered efficiently and sensitively. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful case resolution. Monitor and progress legacy cases to maximise income while safeguarding donor intent. Contribute to annual legacy income forecasting, reforecasting activities, and pipeline management. Analyse case performance and provide accurate reporting to support strategic planning. Identify opportunities to improve processes, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency. Collaborate with colleagues across fundraising and finance functions to support organisational objectives. Champion equity, diversity, inclusion, and safeguarding principles across all activities. Requirements Essential Experience Recognised legacy administration qualification such as the Institute of Legacy Management Certificate in Legacy Administration (CICLA), or qualification as a private client solicitor with relevant experience. Proven experience within a charity legacy administration function, probate team, legal practice, or related legacy management environment. Strong understanding of Probate Law, Trust Law, and relevant Charity Law legislation. Knowledge of income tax, inheritance tax, and capital gains tax as they relate to estate administration. Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions confidently and efficiently using professional judgement and initiative. Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously. High levels of attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion. Desirable Understanding of international development, humanitarian, or charitable sector issues. Experience working with legacy income forecasting and reporting processes.
