Our client is a modern and growing law firm seeking an experienced Legal Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the practice. The Role
Working closely with the finance team, you will be responsible for managing client and office accounts, ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, supporting month-end processes and maintaining accurate financial records. You will also work closely with fee earners and operational teams to provide finance support across the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage client and office account transactions in line with SRA Accounts Rules
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations
- Process client billing, transfers and completion statements
- Support supplier payments, expenses and banking activities
- Assist with payroll, VAT returns and month-end finance processes
- Maintain accurate financial records and support management reporting
- Assist with audit preparation and compliance requirements
- Respond to finance queries from colleagues and clients
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience in legal accounts, finance or bookkeeping
- Good understanding of SRA Accounts Rules
- Strong reconciliation and accounting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office
- Experience using legal accounting software, Xero or QuickBooks is advantageous
- Able to manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment
