Join Leyton's Growing Legal & Compliance Team
Are you a commercially minded legal professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a fast-growing international business?
At Leyton, we're looking for a Legal Advisor to join our expanding Legal & Compliance team. Working closely with our Head of Legal & Compliance and Legal Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting the business across a broad range of legal and regulatory matters.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing technical legal expertise with commercial thinking, whilst helping shape and improve legal processes within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As Legal Advisor, you'll provide practical, commercially focused legal support across the business, helping to manage contractual, compliance and regulatory matters while building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple departments.
You'll be involved in reviewing and negotiating contracts, advising on compliance matters, supporting data protection initiatives and contributing to the continued development of Leyton's Legal & Compliance function.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Draft, review and negotiate client agreements, consultancy agreements and supplier contracts.
- Advise on contractual risk and provide pragmatic commercial solutions.
- Support the management of post-signature contractual matters.
- Assist in developing contract playbooks and standard documentation.

Legal & Compliance
- Support anti-money laundering (AML) processes and wider compliance initiatives.
- Assist with GDPR and data protection compliance, including maintaining relevant records.
- Contribute to policy reviews and internal risk assessments.
Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to colleagues across Sales, Consulting, Finance and Operations.
- Provide clear, practical legal advice tailored to non-legal stakeholders.
- Deliver legal and compliance guidance in a responsive and approachable manner.
Continuous Improvement
- Help improve legal processes through automation, AI and smarter ways of working.
- Support the delivery of legal and compliance training across the business.
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Legal & Compliance function.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong legal knowledge with commercial awareness and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
You'll ideally have:
- A minimum of 2–3 years' post-qualified experience (PQE).
- An LLB (or equivalent), together with the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (DPLP), Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), or equivalent qualification.
- Strong experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
- A good understanding of contract law, GDPR and anti-money laundering requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The confidence to manage multiple priorities and work independently where required.
- A proactive mindset with an interest in improving processes and embracing technology.
