Legal and Compliance Director

We're looking for a Legal and Compliance Director to own and build our legal, regulatory compliance, and risk function as GetGround scales its regulated financial services and property investment platform. With ambitious plans to grow into new markets, this is a role for a highly commercial lawyer who has operated at a senior level, built or led a legal and compliance function, and is ready to help shape the business.

You'll shape how a fast-growing business that operates at the intersection of fintech, proptech, and wealthtech manages risk, meets its regulatory obligations, and earns the trust of customers, regulators, and partners—including as we look beyond our current markets.

This role reports directly to the COO.

The Opportunity

GetGround has grown significantly since we last needed this function:

  • £2Bn+ in assets on platform
  • 30,000+ users in 70 countries
  • A portfolio of regulated products spanning mortgages, property management, and investment tools

Our ambition is to expand further, including into new geographies, and our legal and regulatory function must be prepared for that.

This isn’t just about managing the current function—it’s about shaping it for the future. You’ll:

  • Set strategy
  • Build scalable frameworks for new markets
  • Lead the team during high-stakes situations

You’ll also champion the use of AI and legal technology tools to streamline processes—whether for **contract review, regulatory research, or compliance monitoring—**making us a faster, more scalable team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Legal Leadership

  • Oversee all legal matters—corporate, commercial, IP, employment, data, product, and fundraising
  • Drive and support geographic expansion, including navigating complex legal and regulatory environments
  • Lead and negotiate high-value commercial partnerships, customer, and supplier contracts
  • Advise the CEO and leadership team on legal risk in new product launches and market entries
  • Manage external legal counsel relationships with strict commercial discipline
  • Build a scalable legal infrastructure, including templates, processes, playbooks, and training

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
