Legal Assistant

Legal Assistant – Litigation

Location: Kendal office Type: Full Time, permanent, 35 hours per week

Key details: Salary + bonus + benefits designed to balance your work life in one of the most picturesque regions

About the Role

We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our busy Litigation team in Kendal, nestled between the serene River Kent and the majestic Lake District fells. If your office appeal lies in fresh air, scenic walks after long (but rewarding) days, and proximity to a stunning natural landscape rather than a thunderous city centre, this could be your ideal next step.

While we embrace modern work expectancies, this is not a remote-sketch role. Instead, we’re looking for someone who genuinely relishes office life—who enjoys collaborating with colleagues, forging strong client connections, and contributing to a supportive team culture where human interaction and community lie at the heart of professional growth.

Responsibilities

As part of our dynamic litigation team, you will:

  • Work hand-in-hand with experienced litigation lawyers
    • Progress a diverse caseload with full attention to detail
    • Ensure clients receive outstanding service and advocacy
  • Engage in a variety of supportive duties, including:
    • Acting as a bridge between clients and senior lawyers
    • Assisting with case progression, document preparation, and pre-trial liaison
    • Managing diary organisation, meeting logistics, and correspondence
    • Conducting legal research and compiling case-related materials
    • Handling client enquiries efficiently and professionally
    • Overseeing invoice preparation, compliance documentation, and secure file administration
  • Play a vital organisational role in driving team efficiency and keeping workflows running smoothly

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
