Legal Assistant – Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence

Role Overview

We are seeking a confident, self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence team on a full-time basis, based in our Putney office.

The Role Responsibilities

As a Legal Assistant within our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence department, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Case management: Actively supporting senior colleagues with a mix of charter-partner-directed work, managing a portfolio of personal injury and clinical negligence cases.
  • Drafting legal documentation: Preparing instructions, court bundles, schedules, and other legal correspondence.
  • Fee earning: Undertaking chargeable work with an individual time and fee target, ensuring adherence to service level standards while maintaining professional efficiency.
  • Administrative and client-facing tasks:
    • Preparing reports for clients
    • Assisting with marketing activities
    • Coordinating appointments and appointments for senior management
  • Training and development: Engaging in industry-specific training where relevant and needed.

Technical Skills & Requirements

Essential

  • Law graduate or working towards a law degree, or comparable legal experience.
  • Proven experience in an office environment (preferably a law firm or legal environment).
  • Strong technical skills: Exceptional typing, keyboard, and IT proficiency, alongside accurate attention to detail.
  • Organisational excellence: Ability to manage multiple caseloads efficiently while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills: Both written and verbal, with the ability to interpret client expectations and effectively interact with colleagues.
  • Self-starting and collaborative attitude, with a commitment to supporting team success.

Experience in claims administration, drafting medical reports or handling complaints.
