Legal Assistant – Private Client Team | Dorking
A law firm is seeking a self-motivated Legal Assistant to join its Private Client team in Dorking.

The Role
As a Legal Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Private Client department by providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support. You will work closely with fee earners and wider support teams to deliver exceptional service.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Correspondence & document preparation: Produce accurate correspondence and documents via audio and copying typing.
- Client communications: Handle client interactions via telephone, email and in-person in a professional and friendly manner.
- Administrative tasks: Manage photocopying, post distribution (in liaison with the Business Support Team).
- Diary & meeting coordination: Organise appointments and prepare meeting rooms with refreshments as required.
- Case management: Support file opening and closure in compliance with Law Society and SRA requirements.
- Team support: Assist and guide other Department Assistants within Private Client and across the firm.
- Professional development: Undertake training and contribute to ongoing self-development.
- Confidentiality: Maintain strict discretion when handling client and firm information.
- Additional duties: Perform any reasonable duties required by Partners.

Requirements
- Previous experience: Essential as a Legal Secretary or Department Assistant in a law firm.
- Administrative & organisational skills: Strong ability to manage tasks with excellent attention to detail.
- Communication skills: Fluent written and verbal skills for client interactions.
- Microsoft Office proficiency: Skilled in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Multitasking & prioritisation: Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion: Confidentiality required when handling sensitive information.
- Attitude & work ethic: Positive disposition, strong teamwork and professionalism.
