Legal Assistant / Senior Legal Assistant – Residential Conveyancing
Location: Shaftesbury, North Dorset
About the Role
Farnfields Solicitors is looking for a Legal Assistant / Senior Legal Assistant to join their Residential Conveyancing Team at their Shaftesbury office. This is a permanent, primarily office-based role (minimum 34 hours per week), with the scope to work remotely one day per week following training and induction.
This newly created role will support the Head of the Shaftesbury Conveyancing Team in a bustling and varied position. Previous experience in a legal support role is preferred, ideally within residential conveyancing.
The Role
You will provide transactional support within a fast-paced residential conveyancing team, with responsibilities including:
- Client onboarding
- Compliance procedures
- File progression
- Exchanges
- Completions
- Post-completion administration
- Regular interaction with clients, estate agents, mortgage advisers, and other professionals

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in the legal sector, preferably in residential conveyancing
- An ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Comfort managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Commitment to providing excellent service to clients and colleagues
- Full training and ongoing support will be provided
