Legal Cashier
Legal Cashier Edinburgh | Hybrid Working
Eden Scott's Accountancy & Finance team is delighted to be partnering with a highly respected and established legal practice in Edinburgh as they look to appoint an experienced Legal Cashier to join their Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with legal sector experience to join a collaborative and supportive environment where accuracy, compliance, and client service are at the forefront.
The Role
Working as part of an established finance function, you will support the day-to-day management of client and office account transactions while ensuring all financial activities are completed in line with legal accounting regulations and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing daily client and office account transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.
- Processing payments, transfers, receipts, and banking activities across multiple accounts.
- Carrying out account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and resolving outstanding transactions.
- Supporting the firm's cashroom operations and maintaining strong financial controls.
- Ensuring all transactions adhere to AML requirements and internal policies.
- Building effective relationships with Partners, fee earners, and wider business support teams to provide financial guidance and support.
- Assisting with client account administration, interest calculations, audit preparation, and month-end activities.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team.

About You
- Previous experience working as a Legal Cashier or within a legal finance environment.
- Strong understanding of legal accounting procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across all levels of a business.
- Proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using legal accounting or financial management systems would be advantageous.
