The Role
We are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier to join our existing, professional finance team.
Reporting to the Lead Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of transactions and the associated movements of funds. As Legal Cashier, you will help to ensure we maintain strict adherence to the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (“SARs”) whilst ensuring all completions are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner (processing receipts, checking paperwork, billing cases, paying invoices, processing payments to clients, lenders and third parties). You will be acting as the first point of contact for the operational teams and you will be assisting with resolving issues with residual balances. You will help with processing purchase invoices and ensuring that payments are made according to payment terms. You will be assisting the Lead Cashier and Management Accountant with month end tasks.
This is an exciting role that will suit someone who is used to working in a fast paced, high volume environment working to deadlines while dealing with a variety of stakeholders.
The Finance team is structured to support both of the operational businesses within the CS Law Group (being Thomas Legal and Equilaw). The Legal Cashier role will follow a rota that ensures exposure to both businesses.
The Company
You will be employed by CS Law which is a service Company for our Group operations. Within the group are two separate law firms, Equilaw Ltd and Thomas Legal, both of which have won numerous awards in their respective sectors and are both exploring growth opportunities.
Equilaw Ltd operates a national service within the equity release sector providing independent expert legal advice to those wishing to release equity from their home. Equilaw is recognised for its outstanding performance and delivery in the Equity Release market. www.equilaw.uk.com

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
