Legal Counsel | Essex, UK
The role:
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including NDAs, R&D, licence, supply and distribution agreements, and tender documents.
- Provide pragmatic legal advice to the business, managing legal risk and building stakeholder relationships.
- Support compliance with healthcare industry codes, regulatory obligations and applicable legislation.
- Conduct legal research and advise on emerging legal and regulatory developments.
- Provide corporate governance support to regional entities.
- Contribute to legal training and collaborate with international colleagues on regional legal projects.

What you'll need:
- LL.B. or equivalent law degree, with 2–5 years' PQE (in-house, private practice, or equivalent).
- Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of commercial contract and corporate law.
- High integrity, discretion, and sound professional judgement.
- Strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain legal concepts to non-specialists.
- Some travel required to visit subsidiary companies.
