Legal Counsel | Essex, UK

The role:

  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including NDAs, R&D, licence, supply and distribution agreements, and tender documents.
  • Provide pragmatic legal advice to the business, managing legal risk and building stakeholder relationships.
  • Support compliance with healthcare industry codes, regulatory obligations and applicable legislation.
  • Conduct legal research and advise on emerging legal and regulatory developments.
  • Provide corporate governance support to regional entities.
  • Contribute to legal training and collaborate with international colleagues on regional legal projects.

What you'll need:

  • LL.B. or equivalent law degree, with 2–5 years' PQE (in-house, private practice, or equivalent).
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial contract and corporate law.
  • High integrity, discretion, and sound professional judgement.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain legal concepts to non-specialists.
  • Some travel required to visit subsidiary companies.
