Legal Advisor (Commercial, Funds & Financial Services)

Reporting to: Group Head of Legal

Dismissive: (Schedule can be hybrid or fully remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly talented experienced lawyer to support the rapidly expanding and evolving Aztec Group, delivering specialist legal expertise across a diverse portfolio. This role offers broad exposure to UK and Channel Island jurisdictions, with a strong focus on corporate/commercial work, alternative investment funds, and financial services regulation.

You’ll need a fast-paced, adaptable mindset, blending legal nuance with commercial acumen to advise senior stakeholders, draft bespoke agreements, and oversee compliance projects—both independently and collaboratively.

Ideal candidates will have prestigious post-qualification experience (6+ PQE) in high-level legal practice (e.g., commercial law firms or regulated in-house roles) and thrive in a dynamic environment where proactive legal support is critical to business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Advisory & Compliance Specialist

  • Provide high-level legal counsel across:
    • Financial services regulation (e.g., FCA, EBA, MIFID II)
    • Alternative investment funds (AIFMD, UCITS, wasted assets)
    • Commercial contracts (licensing, supplier NDAs, master service agreements)
    • Data protection (GDPR, privacy governance)
  • Represent Aztec Group in negotiated terms, contracts, and bespoke financial arrangements.
  • Lead or contribute to due diligence, restructuring, and regulatory investigations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
