Legal Counsel, BRS Golf & GolfNow (Digital Platforms & Ventures) – Compensation Commitment
Company Description VERSANT (Nasdaq: VSNT) is an industry-altering media and entertainment business. About the Role
Versant seeks a Legal Counsel to primarily support its BRS Golf and GolfNow businesses, with exposure to broader digital ventures including Fandango. The role will be based at Versant’s International HQ in Belfast, Northern Ireland (hybrid working possible).
Reporting to the Senior Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs, this position will serve as a core legal advisor across diverse commercial, marketing, and corporate transactional matters.
This opportunity caters to candidates who are either newly qualified or have up to three years of post-qualification experience. It offers exposure to a wide range of commercial legal work within a supportive and international team.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice to internal clients on Versant’s Digital Platforms and Ventures portfolio (e.g., GolfNow, BRS Golf, Fandango) operating across international territories beyond the US.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including:
- Strategic partnerships
- Sponsorship agreements
- Vendor/supplier agreements
- Licensing agreements (MSAs, SaaS, etc.)
- Assess legal implications of emerging technology products, helping ensure compliance across jurisdictions (e.g., data protection, privacy, consumer regulation, digital services, and platform governance).
- Monitor and provide legal guidance for marketing and advertising activities, including promotions, competitions, sweepstakes, website terms, and wider campaigns.
- Underwrite state of global business growth through due diligence, legal jurisdiction research, and risk assessment support.
- Collaborate with internal specialist legal/compliance teams to align on Cyber Risk, Data Protection, Corporate Secretarial, Litigation, Intellectual Property, and other legal matters.
- Manage external counsel engagement (timelines, budgets, and workflow efficiency).

Requirements
Qualified Solicitors with proven experience in non-commercial matters, including:
- Contractual advice
- Intellectual Property and principal legal risk management
- Familiarity with Data Protection and other regulatory compliance frameworks
- Experience working in matrixed environments and across multiple functions
Ideal candidates also showcase:
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive independently while prioritizing changing needs
Bonus consideration for experience in:
- SaaS and global markets; particularly Payments/Financial Service Regulations.
- Competition/Anti-trust law exposure.
