Responsibilities
As a core member of the Legal Team, you will:

Draft, negotiate, and advise on a broad spectrum of commercial agreements, including:
- IT suppliers (SaaS, AI, and similar)
- General service providers (banking, sponsorship, and marketing partners)

Partner with internal stakeholders to support:
- The launch of new products, processes, and promotions

Provide expertise on data protection matters, such as:
- Controller/processor term agreements
- Privacy notices and DP queries

Collaborate with our Compliance Team on regulatory queries

Draft and update customer-facing terms and conditions, including related materials

Help drive the implementation of legal tech innovations, such as:
- AI-assisted contract reviews
- Enhanced Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) functionality, to scale the legal function

Advise on a broad range of other legal activities, including:
- Intellectual property (IP)
- Employment matters
- Property and litigation, as needed

Provide training and legal education to the business

Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments and proactively advise on potential impacts

- Work closely with external legal advisors, managing relationships where appropriate
Requirements, Experience & Skills
Essential
- 2–5 years PQE (Qualified Practitioner Experience) as a lawyer, preferably from:
- City law firms with strong legal credentials
- Solid experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, particularly in:
- IT-related contracts (including SaaS, reseller agreements, and software development)
- Excellent organisational skills and a steady focus on detail—proven experience in:
- Juggling and prioritising multiple competing matters
- A pragmatic, business-minded approach, with the ability to:
- Understand the commercial lens unique to Moneybox’s needs
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills (both written and verbal)
Desirable
- Previous experience working in-house at tech start-ups or scale-ups
- Financial services/regulated industry knowledge
- Proven skills in legal research
- Fluency in commercial English
