Legal Counsel – Commercial Legal Team

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Commercial Legal team. You will advise the businesses of Guardian Media Group (GMG) across a broad spectrum of commercial, corporate, regulatory, intellectual property, contentious, and other legal matters.
About the Role

Advise on a diverse range of contentious and non-contentious commercial legal matters, including:
- Technology
- Digital content
- Regulatory compliance
- Intellectual property
- Commercial disputes

Autonomously manage high-calibre legal matters while proactively contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the legal function.

Review, negotiate, and draft commercial contracts, covering:
- B2C terms and conditions
- Content agreements
- Sponsorship deals
- Joint ventures
- Procurement, distribution, and advertising agreements
- Technology and digital contracts

Manage external counsel worldwide, ensuring efficient legal service delivery.

Work closely with the Data Privacy team and key internal stakeholders.
Requirements

A qualified, experienced solicitor with a strong legal background.

Relevant commercial and intellectual property experience in:
- Commercial law
- Advertising and competition law
- Publishing sector
- ( Either from a leading law firm or an established in-house legal department )
