About Us

We’re Civica, and we create software that helps deliver critical services for citizens all around the world. From local government, to education, health, and care, over 5,000 public bodies across the globe use our software to provide essential services to over 100 million citizens.

Our aspiration is to be a GovTech champion everywhere we work, supporting the needs of citizens and those who serve them every day. Building on 21 years of continuous growth and success, we're at a pivotal point in our journey to realise that aspiration.

Why you will love this opportunity as Legal Counsel at Civica

We're looking for a Legal Counsel to join Civica's growing legal team, supporting a broad range of commercial, intellectual property, technology and data protection matters across the business. This is an outstanding opportunity for a lawyer with 1-4 years PQE who enjoys variety, wants exposure to senior stakeholders and is excited by the pace and opportunity that comes with a business undergoing significant transformation.

Reporting directly to our Group Legal Director, you'll receive exceptional mentoring and support whilst also being trusted to take ownership of your own work. This is a role that offers the best of both worlds: the opportunity to learn from experienced legal leaders while developing the autonomy and commercial judgement expected of a successful in-house lawyer.

As a private equity backed global GovTech business, Civica continues to invest heavily in growth, innovation and transformation. You'll play an important role in supporting a business that serves customers across the UK and APAC, giving you international exposure whilst remaining predominantly UK focused.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
