We're looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Construction team, with travel to Kier offices/sites as required.
Location: Flexible on location, with travel to Kier offices/sites as required
Hours: 37.5 - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
This exciting opportunity is for a construction lawyer to join our thriving legal team supporting Kier's Construction business and Kier Places Building Solutions. You'll partner with our regional building business, providing essential legal support across all matters while building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Legal Counsel, You'll Be Working Within The Group Legal, Compliance & Governance Team, Supporting Them In Delivering Effective And Timely Legal Advice. Your Day To Day Will Include
- Providing comprehensive legal and governance support to commercial and operational teams
- Managing relationships with external legal suppliers and controlling costs
- Guiding pre-construction teams on governance requirements and tender processes
- Sharing valuable insights and lessons learned across the team
- Contributing to the improvement and innovation of legal service delivery

What are we looking for?
This role of Legal Counsel is great for you if:
- You're a qualified Solicitor with 3+ PQE in construction law (contentious and non-contentious experience helpful)
- You have strong knowledge of NEC contracts and experience with JCT and PPC forms
- You understand the Building Safety Act 2022 and related legislation
- You're commercially minded with excellent relationship-building skills
- You have exceptional organisational skills and can manage multiple matters simultaneously
