Commercial Legal Counsel (2–5 PQE)
Location: Blackburn

About the Opportunity
LHH are supporting a growing organisation looking to appoint a Commercial Legal Counsel (2–5 PQE) to join its in-house legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level lawyer seeking a first or second in-house move, offering broad exposure to commercial matters and close collaboration with stakeholders across the business.
You will play a key role in delivering practical legal advice, supporting commercial decision-making, and developing your in-house skillset within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including supply of goods/services agreements, franchise agreements, and SaaS/technology contracts
- Provide day-to-day legal support to business stakeholders, delivering clear and pragmatic advice
- Assist with commercial due diligence on acquisitions and support post-completion integration activities
- Work closely with internal teams to understand requirements and help deliver commercially focused legal solutions
- Support senior members of the legal team on more complex or strategic projects
- Ensure contracts and arrangements comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements
- Assist with internal governance processes, including approvals for contracts and transactions
- Provide support across a broader range of legal matters (e.g. corporate, regulatory, employment, real estate) as your experience develops
- Assist with company secretarial matters such as board documentation and governance processes
- Support data protection activities, including handling queries and DSARs with guidance
- Contribute to improving contract templates, processes, and legal best practices
- Identify and escalate legal risks, offering practical solutions

About You
- UK qualified lawyer with 2–5 years’ PQE
- Strong grounding in commercial contracts, gained in private practice or in-house
- Experience with technology or SaaS agreements is advantageous but not essential
- Commercially aware, with the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice
- Keen to develop in an in-house environment and take on a broad role
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-legal stakeholders
- Well-organised and able to manage a varied workload
