About The Role
This Legal Counsel – Data Privacy, AI & Commercial role will provide subject matter expertise across the organization on complex and evolving privacy, AI, and data regulations. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of global laws, strong business judgment, and the ability to translate legal requirements into practical, scalable solutions that enable innovation while managing risk. The role is a hands-on position responsible for supporting the organisation’s global data protection, supply chain and AI governance frameworks, as well as handling commercial contracting matters across product lines.

This role operates at the intersection of Legal, Security, Product, and Compliance, ensuring that data privacy and AI risks are proactively managed, embedded into business processes, and aligned with regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Operate and maintain the organisation’s data protection governance framework in line with GDPR, UK GDPR, and global regimes including supporting on maintenance of RoPA, data mapping, and intra-group data transfer governance across Comply365’s global footprint.
- Assist in the maintenance of AI and Supplier governance and risk management frameworks and keep up to date on global regulatory developments within privacy, AI and Security.
- Support global commercial transactions, draft and negotiate SaaS agreements, MSAs, SOWs, DPAs

Essential Skills
- Strong SaaS commercial contracting experience
- Hands-on data privacy governance experience including maintenance of global privacy documentation (RoPA, TRAs, SCCs etc).
- Understanding of and experience embedding AI governance and security frameworks
- Strong stakeholder management and commercial judgement
Experience
- Qualified lawyer (UK / US / EU) with 3–6 years PQE (flexible depending on experience)
- Strong background in commercial / technology / SaaS contracting
- Experience working in-house in a global SaaS or tech business preferred
