CRITICAL LITIGATION OPPORTUNITY *Staffordshire-based Hybrid Working | Disputes Lawyer (2-5 PQE)

Arbuthnot Yon is seeking a disputes lawyer to support a regulated market-leading business operating across the UK, serving ~400,000 customers with a turnover of ~£800 million. The organisation is experiencing dynamic change, and its litigation team is expanding—perfect for a driven lawyer eager to help shape and grow this area.

About the Role

This strategic and operational position blends external litigation with internal team leadership:

  • Key Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships across senior management and commercial teams.
  • Case Management: Lead personal caseloads and partner with the Head of Disputes on high-value, complex matters (from legislative/contractual disputes to debt and regulatory challenges).
  • Negotiation and Settlement: Navigate intricate settlements and in-person client negotiations.
  • Team Support: Mentor junior paralegals/specialists and collaborate with an evolving blend of private practice and in-house experience.

Key Requirements

  • 2–5 years PQE (or equivalent experience) in litigation or business disputes, gained in private practice or in-house.
  • Proven track record handling contract disputes, statutory compliance, or commercial regulatory matters.
  • Ability to premisesolve and articulate trade-offs with key stakeholders (internally and externally).
  • Commitment to a hybrid-working role based in Staffordshire.
