Employment Legal Counsel – First Dedicated Role (Fast-growing international business, Spain/Europe)
A rare and exciting opportunity to build and shape an employment law function for a dynamic multicultural business spanning Europe, the US, and Asia.
The Role
As our inaugural Employment Legal Counsel, you’ll provide expert guidance on critical employment matters, fostering strong collaboration with HR, leadership, and legal teams. Core responsibilities include:
- Employee relations and dispute resolution Advisory on investigations, disciplinary matters, and grievances.
- Employment contracts, policies, and change Design and compliance review for contracts, policies, and transitional initiatives.
- Workforce planning & legal risk Support Europe, US, and the Asia region with employment compliance and mitigating legal exposure.
- Strategic legal collaboration Partner with senior stakeholders to address high-impact, cross-functional challenges.
- Knowledge sharing and operational excellence Manage relationships with external counsel, deliver tailored employment law training, and establish best practices.

About You
We’re looking for a qualified UK Solicitor with hands-on experience in employment law and the commercial acumen to thrive in a fast-paced international environment.
Key criteria:
- Qualifying as a Solicitor (England & Wales) with 1+ years’ Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in employment law practice preferred.
- Strong foundation in UK employment law; cognisance of international employment matters is a distinct advantage.
- Commercial pragmatism with a business-aligned mindset, great for bridging legal strategy with real-world decisions.
- Confident partnering: Ability to navigate senior stakeholder relationships with diplomacy and proactive problem-solving.
- Communication and relationship-building: Skilled in articulating legal complexities to non-legal audiences.
- Collaborative mindset: Thrives in an interdisciplinary team and has an appetite to expand their expertise globally.
