Legal Counsel - Employment Law (UK)
Are you an employment lawyer with strong UK employment law experience, thinking about a move in-house or your next career step? If you’re looking for a role where you can get closer to the business, influence real decisions, and work in a hybrid environment, we’d love to hear from you.
This opportunity is based in either London or Manchester, with a mix of home and office working.

What the Day Will Look Like
You will:
- Partner closely with HR and business stakeholders, providing clear, practical advice across a wide range of UK employment law matters.
- Work across the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and contracts to complex employee relations issues, restructures, and exits.
- Advise on key areas including:
- Redundancy
- TUPE (Transfers of Undertakings)
- Disciplinary and grievance matters
- Restrictive covenants
- Employment Tribunal claims (with external counsel when needed).
- Support policy development, deliver training, and help embed best practice across the business.

Skills & Experience Needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales (or equivalent).
- At least 4 years’ PQE in employment law, gained in private practice or in-house.
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law, with experience advising on complex employee relations matters.
- Experience supporting redundancy programmes, TUPE, and organisational change.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and provide commercially focused, practical advice.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively.
