Legal Counsel

👋 About Us

We are a rapidly growing Managing General Agent specialising in underwriting trade credit insurance and surety products. Since launching commercially in 2022, we’ve expanded across the UK, EU, US, and Canada, serving global corporates via a blend of insurance expertise and proprietary technology.

Named the #4 fastest-growing software company in the UK by Sunday Times Tech 100, and the fastest-growing insurtech in the UK and Ireland by Sifted.

As we scale internationally, we are hiring our second lawyer to collaborate with the Head of Legal and Compliance. This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute to the legal, regulatory, and commercial framework of a business in its early growth stage.

🔑 Important Information

  • Location: London (Bermondsey Street, London Bridge) – 4 days per week office-based
  • Qualification: Qualified solicitor (England and Wales)
  • Experience:
    • 3–4 years’ PQE (Post-Qualification Experience), ideally with a prior insurance or reinsurance focus
  • Reports to: Head of Legal and Compliance
  • Interview Process:
    • Introductory call
    • Head of Legal and Compliance (including case study)
    • Interview with CEO / Group Chief Underwriting Officer

💼 About the Role

As the second lawyer in the legal function, you will collaborate closely with the Head of Legal and Compliance to take primary ownership of the insurance wording and policy documentation workflow. This includes crafting, reviewing, and negotiating:

  • Trade credit insurance policy wordings and endorsements
  • Surety bonds and counterindemnities
  • Insurance binders across multiple jurisdictions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
