Legal Counsel
Legal Counsel (Hybrid)
Location: Birmingham (3 days in office per week)
Salary: GBP £54K – £64K
We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join a high-performing in-house legal team, supporting a complex and dynamic organisation that delivers large-scale commercial projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with stakeholders, influencing decision-making, and providing pragmatic legal advice across a broad range of matters.
The Role
Reporting into the senior legal leadership team, you will provide high-quality legal advice and support across a diverse portfolio of commercial, contractual, and regulatory matters. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will partner with colleagues at all levels of the business to help manage legal risk while enabling commercial objectives.

- Advising on a wide range of commercial and construction-related contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating high-value, complex agreements.
- Providing legal support on procurement activities and contract management matters.
- Advising on contractual claims, disputes, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Developing and delivering legal training to enhance business awareness and compliance.
- Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister with strong commercial legal experience and the ability to provide practical, business-focused advice.
Ideal Experience & Attributes
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister status in England and Wales.
- Strong experience in commercial contract law and/or procurement law.
- Experience negotiating and advising on complex commercial and construction contracts.
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
