Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and collaborative attorney to join our dynamic Legal Department’s Legal Privacy and Information Security group. This role reports to the Deputy General Counsel/DPO, Privacy and Legal Information Security and supports Comcast Cable’s global privacy and information security program. Providing excellent legal counsel and subject matter expertise are core responsibilities. Strong familiarity with the legal and regulatory landscape, contract negotiation experience, and transactional counsel on privacy and information security laws are mandatory. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team in a dynamic international company.


Core Responsibilities

  • Handle privacy and information security-related inquiries from diverse company groups, providing actionable advice and legal counsel to:
    • Facilitate compliance with Company’s policies, standards, and applicable laws and best practices.
    • Evaluate company programs and initiatives while considering privacy and information security requirements.
  • Work closely with enterprise and business unit stakeholders to embed:
    • Privacy and information security principles into business plans and strategic initiatives during design and execution.
  • Assist with:
    • Creation, maintenance, and implementation of:
      • Policies, processes, data inventories and records of processing, and related documentation.
      • Review Company practices to ensure consistency with policies, governance documents, and internal frameworks.
  • Monitor and implement privacy and information security laws, regulations, standards, and best practices globally (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act), including international jurisdictions (self-regulatory organizations: DAA and NAI).
  • Provide proactive legal counsel on:
    • Data governance, data retention, data minimization, and incident response matters.
  • Advise on post-acquisition privacy and information security integration.
  • Assist with Privacy Impact and Risk Assessments for new businesses/initatives.
  • Conduct awareness and training efforts to enhance employee understanding of:
    • Privacy policies, data handling, and information security practices/procedures.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer in ongoing responsibilities.
  • Engage with game-changing technology, products, and services, particularly digital tools, and drive results and growth.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion in all work efforts.

Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor degree (or equivalent).
  • 2–5 years’ combined legal experience at a top law firm or in-house legal department, with:
    • 1–3 years’ experience in privacy and information security highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of:
    • European and UK privacy and security legislation (e.g., GDPR).
    • ** EU & UK legal frameworks** including:
      • ePrivacy Directive, NIS2, the Cyber Resilience Act (familiarity with broader global privacy laws and frameworks also preferred).
  • Transactional experience in:
    • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating privacy/data protection agreements, usage contracts, and transfer agreements.
  • Certified professionals (e.g., CIPP/E or equivalent) considered a strong asset.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience with privacy impact assessments and advising on legal requirements.
  • Ability to:
    • Interpret complex requirements and communicat high-level guidance.
    • Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines with high quality results.
    • Work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Collaborate effectively across teams.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Pragmatic, risk-based approach and collaborative mindset necessary.
  • Strong attendance and punctuality; options for office or hybrid (3-5 days in London).
  • Potential for European/US travel.

Education & Benefits
