Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and collaborative attorney to join our Legal Department’s Legal Privacy and Information Security group. Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel/DPO, Privacy and Legal Information Security, this role will support Comcast Cable’s global privacy and information security program by providing expert legal counsel and subject-matter expertise.
A strong understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape in privacy and information security is required, along with contract negotiation and transactional experience.

Role Overview
Position: Counsel, Privacy & Legal Information Security
Reports to: Deputy General Counsel / DPO, Privacy and Legal Information Security
Location: London, UK (Office-based 3–5 days a week)
Core Responsibilities
Compliance & Counseling
- Handle privacy-related inquiries from diverse internal groups, providing actionable legal advice to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices (e.g., GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, NIS2, Cyber Resilience Act).
- Evaluate Comcast programs and initiatives to assess alignment with privacy and security requirements, ensuring alignment with governance frameworks.
- Work with enterprise and business unit stakeholders to embed privacy expertise into strategic initiatives, from design to execution.

Policy & Governance
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and implementing policies, processes, data inventories, and records of processing to ensure compliance.
- Review company practices against existing policies, governance documents, and compliance standards.
- Monitor evolving legal landscapes, summarizing updates and implementing requirements across the UK, EU, and other jurisdictions.
Transactional & Strategic Support
- Provide proactive legal counsel on privacy, data governance, retention, minimization, and incident response.
- Assist with post-acquisition privacy and security integration for newly acquired entities.
- Contribute to Privacy Impact and Risk Assessments for new projects involving personal data.
Training & Awareness
- Deliver privacy and security awareness training to employees.
- Support the role of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in operational and compliance matters.
Skills & Experience
Legal & Technical Acumen
- A minimum of 3–5 years combined legal experience, with 1–3 years specializing in privacy and information security.
- In-depth knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, NIS2, and Cyber Resilience Act.
- Experience advising on global privacy frameworks (preferred).
- Familiarity with privacy management platforms and productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, Harvey).
Transactional & Contractual Expertise
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing privacy/data protection agreements, including data processing, usage, and transfer terms.
- Practiced in privacy impact assessments and risk management.

Certifications & Requirements

Juris Doctor (or equivalent legal qualification).

Relevant privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E) are preferred.

Demonstrated experience in global privacy environments.
