Legal Counsel, Property

Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

We're looking for a commercially minded Legal Counsel, Property to join our high-performing Legal team. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Property, you'll play a key role in supporting a diverse portfolio of property and infrastructure projects across the Centrica group.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and strategically important matters spanning renewable energy developments, gas storage, hydrogen projects, commercial property transactions, corporate acquisitions and estate management. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, providing pragmatic legal advice that helps drive growth while managing risk.

The breadth of work means you'll need to be adaptable, inquisitive and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and build strong relationships across a wide stakeholder network.

Location

We work flexibly in line with our Flexible First working arrangements believing that empowered colleagues are happier and more productive. The successful candidate will, however, need to be comfortable commuting to our Windsor office (until end 2026) and Reading office (from January 2027) on a weekly basis and to our other locations as may be needed.

What You'll Be Doing

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
