What You’ll Do as a Legal Counsel - Technology

We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:

Lead drafting and negotiation of enterprise technology contracts, including cloud, software, data, digital and cross‑border service arrangements. Support strategic digital transformation and outsourcing programmes across multiple markets. Provide clear legal advice on contracts, disputes, and legislation impacting technology, data and digital services, including cross‑border transfers, cybersecurity and AI governance. Advise on emerging technology matters such as AI use cases, automation, data commercialisation and evolving EU/UK regulatory frameworks. Act as the primary legal partner for technology, data and AI topics, building strong relationships across Primark and influencing strategic and operational decisions. Collaborate with external counsel across jurisdictions, managing timelines and budgets while translating legal advice into practical guidance for non‑legal stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued – so please bring your authentic self to work, of course with some other key experience and abilities for this role in particular:

Qualified solicitor with 4–6 years PQE, gained either in private practice or in-house. Experience advising on technology, digital or commercial matters within a fast‑paced business environment. Strong drafting and negotiation skills for technology and commercial contracts, including cross‑border arrangements. Exposure to data protection, cybersecurity or regulatory matters, ideally covering both EU and UK regimes. Interest in or experience with AI, automation, digital platforms and data‑driven business models. Proven ability to manage large projects and multi‑stakeholder initiatives, applying rigorous legal analysis while supporting commercial objectives and building strong relationships across an organisation.
