Interim Legal Counsel – Construction (6-Month Contract)

About the Role
We are seeking an interim Legal Counsel specializing in construction to support Equinix’s data centre development projects across the EMEA region for a period of 6 months. This role is ideal for a lawyer who thrives in fast-paced, business-critical environments and enjoys partnering with stakeholders across the business with a focus on the Design & Construction team.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on all legal and contractual aspects of the development and construction of data centres, including contract negotiation, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Support major infrastructure projects, focusing on construction contracts and project delivery.
- Provide clear, commercial, and practical legal advice to stakeholders across EMEA.
- Identify legal risks and propose pragmatic solutions to enable business growth.
- Contribute to creation and continuous improvement of legal processes, playbooks, and templates.
- Manage external counsel.

Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE, specializing in construction law.
- Experience in private practice, in-house, or both.
- Strong expertise in construction contracts and infrastructure projects.
- Experience in the data centre industry is preferred but not essential.
- Fluent English.
- Ability to work independently and handle a diverse, fast-paced workload.
