Legal Director (Housebuilding)
My client is a leading independent property development company. As part of a continued growth trajectory, they are looking to build out their legal function and are now seeking a Legal Director to lead all matters arising from their housebuilding arm (they currently construct around 2,000 homes annually across the UK).
About the Role
The Legal Director will provide expert legal advice and support across all aspects of the housebuilding life cycle, ensuring all land acquisition, development, and disposal processes are conducted with:

Key Responsibilities
- Advise on land acquisition (contracts, due diligence, negotiations)
- Review and draft development agreements (planning, health & safety, contracts)
- Support land disposal (Sales, final legal interfaces)
- Ensure compliance across regulatory, contractual, and operational frameworks
- Drive legal function growth within a rapidly scaling company
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor (with minimum 8+ years post-qualification experience)
- Top-tier residential development/real estate law training (preferably from aваоatable solicitors' firm)
- Ideal: Prior in-house housebuilding legal experience
- Essential: Strong expertise in land acquisition, development agreements, and regulatory compliance
- Hybrid working model (primary office: Milton Keynes)
- Ability to лиviae in a fast-paced, high-volume development environment
