Legal Director - Private Client

Senior Private Client Solicitor

About the Role

You will be providing high-quality private client advice to all clients, covering areas including:

  • Inheritance tax and succession planning
  • Preparing Balfour-type reviews of businesses to ascertain trading status and advise on improvements
  • Drafting:
    • Wills
    • Trusts
    • Letters of wishes
    • Powers of attorney, including business powers of attorney

Supervision & Mentorship

  • Act as a senior member of the team, helping to supervise and mentor junior solicitors.
  • Support departmental/firm growth by securing additional business from new and existing clients.

Legal & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research to ensure accuracy in advice and procedures.
  • Support internal procedures and systems, including:
    • File/case management
    • Time recording

Requirements

Professional Background

  • Strong private client experience, including:

    • Preparation of trust and estate accounts
    • Tax return handling
  • Specialised competency with a reputation for excellence in specific areas, while maintaining strong commercial awareness and business development skills.

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to:

    • Collaborate across team levels.
    • Work independently or as part of a cohesive team.
  • Comfortable with the demands of multitasking and time management:

    • Ability to keep calm under pressure.

Operative Requirements

  • A valid, clean driving licence (travel expected as part of the role).
