Legal Officer

We have a rare opportunity for a Legal Officer to join our Court Team.
In this role you will predominantly support the work of the Adult Social Care legal mini team who provide legal representation, advice and assistance to the Adult Social Care department within the council.
This post holder will work primarily on Adult Social Care Law. However, there will also be opportunities to develop your skills with work across the whole of our legal service area which includes general litigation, employment, contracts and commercial, property, planning and highways, licensing and children social care.
The Adult Social Care mini team is a busy and supportive team who carry out work with significant impact for some of the city’s most vulnerable residents. It presents Legal Officers with a genuine opportunity to make a difference.

If you have a law degree, a CILEX qualification, you are a solicitor or barrister, or you are working towards any of these qualifications and you have experience or demonstrable commitment to legal work in one or more of the above areas we would be delighted to hear from you.
This role is suitable as a job share opportunity.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role.
Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
