If you enjoy working with team members whose defining characteristics are exceptional client service, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness, and adaptability, you may be the person we are seeking to join our Legal Project Management department in our London office as a Legal Project Management Apprentice on an 18-month fixed term contract.

Responsibilities

Legal Project Management (LPM)

  • To support the Firm's LPM initiatives across the UK, specifically functional support for the Firm's matter management and budgeting systems and processes
  • Assist management, practice group leadership, and client teams in understanding client and matter economics through the production, interpretation, and provision of management and financial analysis
  • Provide client-facing, legal services, and matter management support, including bespoke status and WIP reports.
  • Provide local resource to support the LPM team including:
    • Provide functional support for the Firm's matter management/budgeting tool
    • Liaise direct with partners and matter teams regarding action lists, meeting minutes, scheduling, planning, and budgeting.
    • Assist in the monitoring of matter deliverables against actual performance
    • Apply project management principles to the planning and execution of legal matters with the aim of increasing efficiencies, enhancing client communications, and improving financial performance
    • Implement, provide feedback, and continually help to refine new business processes and procedures in relation to the global LPM function
    • Assist the LPM team in training of partners, associates, and staff in the use of LPM tools
    • Assist in scheduling and arranging video conferences, preparing agendas, and taking actions

Qualifications, Experience, and Personal Attributes

  • Educated to ‘A’ Level standard or equivalent
  • Have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (A-C) – Maths and English is essential.

Apprenticeship Information: This role would be suitable for someone wanting to study for the Level 4 apprenticeship in Project Management.

Experience, Skills, and Personal Attributes

  • Strong IT skills with literacy in Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Personable and able and willing to work as part of a team;
  • Good telephone manner essential;
  • Adaptable and flexible;
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and ability to check own work;
  • Reliable and well organized;
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure;
  • Accurate spelling and punctuation;
  • Project Management skills, including being able to manage multiple projects at one time and prioritize as necessary;
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills, able to analyze data. High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Ability to create strong successful working relationship with clients, partners, and staff. Strong team player with ability to listen to others’ opinions and propose creative workable solutions to problems;
  • Able to articulate points of view clearly and succinctly, with excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and proactive, with good organizational and time management skills;
