Legal Receptionist
Part-Time Receptionist – Preston Office
£24,500 FTE (pro rata) | Part-time (14 hours/week) | Monday & Tuesday, 9:00am–5:00pm
We’re working with a growing law firm seeking to recruit a Receptionist to join its Preston office on a part-time basis. This role is perfect for someone with exceptional communication and organisational skills who enjoys being the first point of contact for clients while supporting a friendly legal team.
About the Role
This is a part-time opportunity (14 hours per week, Monday & Tuesday, 9:00am–5:00pm). The schedule is fixed and cannot be altered.
Responsibilities
As our Receptionist, you’ll handle a range of key duties, including:

Telephone Switchboard Management
- Operating the main switchboard and directing calls appropriately

Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Receiving telephone enquiries, taking messages, and resolving straightforward queries
- Making outbound calls to clients, solicitors, courts, and other third parties

Administrative & Case Management Support
- Maintaining diaries and completing telephone records
- Inputting data into the firm’s case management system
- Creating and archiving new/closed case files

Postal & Reception Handling
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail
- Ensuring the reception area remains clean, tidy, and welcoming

Health & Safety Compliance
- Conducting routine fire alarm tests and maintaining daily logs

General Support
- Assisting with additional administrative tasks as required
Requirements
We’re looking for a professional with:
✅ Previous reception, front-of-house, or administrative experience (preferably in professional services) ✅ Exceptional telephone manner and strong communication skills ✅ Strong organisational ability with meticulous attention to detail ✅ Confidence in using computer systems and Microsoft Office ✅ A reliable, flexible, and client-focused approach
