An established law firm is seeking a Legal Secretary / Assistant to join its busy Residential Conveyancing team in Southend-on-Sea.

In order to make an application, simply read through the following job description and make sure to attach relevant documents.

This role provides administrative and secretarial support to the department, assisting with the smooth running of property transactions.

The Role

You will provide support to the Residential Conveyancing team, including:

  • Providing administrative and secretarial support to fee earners
  • Preparing correspondence and legal documents
  • Managing files and maintaining accurate records
  • Liaising with clients, solicitors, estate agents and other third parties
  • Assisting with the progression of residential property transactions
  • Updating case management systems and ensuring information is recorded accurately
  • Managing general department administration and supporting team members
  • Ensuring a high standard of client service throughout matters

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a legal environment is essential
  • Residential Conveyancing experience is desirable but not essential
  • Strong administration and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a busy team
  • Professional and client-focused approach
  • Confidence using IT systems; experience with case management systems would be advantageous
