spire is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Leisure Centre Manager to lead the operation and ongoing development of our inclusive, community-focused leisure facility.
Aspire is a national charity supporting people with spinal cord injuries to live full, independent lives. Our Leisure Centre plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, accessible leisure services—and is also a key contributor to Aspire’s financial sustainability through strong performance, income generation, and customer growth.
About the Role
As Leisure Centre Manager, you will have full responsibility for the operational and commercial performance of the centre.
- Lead the development and delivery of a robust business plan, with clear accountability for:
- Income generation
- Budget management
- Profitability
- Ensure the highest standards of safety, inclusion, and customer experience
- Work closely with internal colleagues and external partners to:
- Identify opportunities for increased participation and growth
- Develop new income streams
- Maximise member utilisation

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring a balance of:

About You
You will bring:
- Proven management experience within the leisure industry or comparable customer-focused environment
- A strong track record of delivering commercial or profitable outcomes, including:
- Income growth
- Cost control
- Financial performance improvement
- Confidence in:
- Business planning
- Budgeting
- Financial accountability
- The ability to:
- Use data and local insights to drive marketing and customer engagement
- Strengthen revenue growth
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a people-centred, performance-focused approach
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
- A genuine dedication to inclusion and accessible leisure services

Salary & Benefits
- Salary: Up to £42,400 per annum (depending on experience)
- 8% employer pension contribution
- Life Assurance (3× salary)
- Free Aspire Leisure Centre membership
Location: Aspire Leisure Centre Hours: 35 hours per week (including some shift work)
