Leisure Operations Manager: Step Into the Action
Let's be completely honest. Running a 4,000-member leisure club is an incredibly rewarding job, but it certainly keeps you on your toes! If you are looking for a standard desk job, this might not be the one for you. We are looking for a Leisure Operations Manager who genuinely loves being out on the floor, getting stuck in, and leading a brilliant team at Village.
A Realistic Look at the Role
We believe in leading by example, which means being right there alongside your team. Yes, there is admin to tackle, and you will play a key part in hitting our commercial targets, but your true happy place will be out in the club.
- Helping to keep the facilities spotless (we all grab a cloth when needed!)
- Sitting poolside to supervise
- Acting as the first point of contact for maintenance
- Reporting, chasing contractors, and ensuring a quick resolution when things break

This is a 40-hour contract working 5 days out of 7. Leisure hours naturally mean a variety of shifts. These can range from a 4:30 am opening to an 11:00 pm close, and weekends are very much part of the rhythm.
However, our Leisure Club Manager, Kyle, runs with a brilliant "work to live, not live to work" mentality. We understand you have a life outside these walls, so when the business demands a wee bit more of your time, we ensure you get that time back. Flexibility works both ways here.
What We Are Looking For
The People Person:
- Calm under pressure
- Brilliant at handling member feedback gracefully
- Confident, friendly face everyone turns to
The Technical Stuff:
- Proficient in pool plant operations
- Sharp on Health and Safety, assisting with risk assessments, COSHH, and keeping our standards sky-high
The Leadership:
- Know how to coach, train, and engage your Leisure Team Leaders and Group Fitness teams
- Know how to run shifts that are highly productive but still have a real sense of fun
