Lending Operations Manager
Glasgow | Hybrid (3 days in the office)
Are you an experienced operations leader within the mortgage sector looking to make a real impact? We're partnering with a fast-growing, innovative lender seeking a Lending Operations Manager to lead and develop its mortgage operations function during an exciting period of expansion.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that's investing heavily in technology, operational excellence, and customer experience. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping how mortgage applications move through the lending journey, driving efficiencies, leading high-performing teams, and delivering outstanding service to brokers and customers alike.
What you'll be doing
As Lending Operations Manager, you'll oversee the operational delivery of the mortgage application journey, ensuring cases progress efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality and regulatory standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the day-to-day mortgage operations function (10+ reports) across the application lifecycle.
- Managing workflow, capacity planning, and pipeline performance to ensure excellent service levels.
- Leading and developing a team of mortgage operations professionals, creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, automate workflows, and improve operational efficiency.
- Using MI and performance data to monitor KPIs and drive informed business decisions.
- Managing operational escalations and ensuring timely resolution of complex cases.
- Working closely with Risk, Compliance, Sales, and Technology teams to implement operational improvements.
- Supporting business growth by building scalable, efficient, and well-controlled operational processes.
- Ensuring customer outcomes remain at the heart of every decision while maintaining regulatory compliance.

About you:
- Extensive experience within mortgage operations in a regulated lending environment.
- Strong knowledge of the residential mortgage application journey from submission through to completion.
- Experience leading and developing operational teams.
- A proven track record of delivering process improvement and operational transformation initiatives.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and improve performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A good understanding of FCA regulatory requirements and operational risk.
- Experience implementing technology, automation, or AI-led improvements would be highly advantageous.
