Arboricultural Assistant – RHS Garden Bridgewater
Overview of the Role
Are you ready to grow your arboricultural career whilst working at a nationally important garden?
Whether you are building your skills after training or already working in arboriculture or horticulture and looking for a fresh challenge, RHS Garden Bridgewater offers a rare opportunity to develop your craft in a supportive, ambitious and inspiring setting.
As part of our arboricultural team, you will help care for and shape a remarkable treescape at a key moment in the garden’s development. Working under the direction of the Arboricultural Team Leader, you will be involved in the practical, day-to-day management, maintenance, and enhancement of trees across the site, gaining valuable experience while making a visible contribution to the garden.

Key Responsibilities
You will assist in the:
- Practical, day-to-day management and maintenance of trees
- Enhancement of the treescape at RHS Garden Bridgewater
- Support for sustainable stewardship of important collections
- Contribution to large-scale projects with lasting impact
- Development of practical arboricultural skills under supervision

Requirements
- Experience or interest in arboriculture or horticulture (training sought/eligible applicants welcomed)
- Physical fitness and willingness for outdoor, labour-intensive work (e.g., climbing, handling tools)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and collaborate within a team
- Access to reliable transport as this role includes travelling across the garden site
No prior formal qualification is strictly required, but passion and drive will take you far.
