Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker in the Stafford adult social care team, the post is working within a well-established and dynamic team.
The Level 1 Social Worker post is ideal for a newly qualified social worker, and the successful candidate will be supported to complete their ASYE, whilst working on a protected caseload.
The position is within the older persons with physical disability team which is a community-based team working with Adults over 18 years of age with a range of physical and mental health needs. This is a dynamic post that requires the post holder to work closely with multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues in the promotion of independence and improving the health and wellbeing of the population served.

Main Duties of the Job
- Responsibility for your own caseload.
- Work on a range of cases involving:
- Assessment
- Support planning
- Mental Capacity Act assessments
- Appointeeships and deputyship referrals
- Section 117 reviews
- Safeguarding enquiries
- Complex case management
- Manage your own workload and diary.
- Opportunity to work in a hybrid way, being based between the office base in Stafford and home working.
Requirements
- Hold a driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle.
- Ability to use a computer and understanding of the importance of good recording.
- Effective communication and written skills.
- Willingness to work as part of a team to promote best outcomes for individuals.
- Self-motivated and organised to manage competing demands.
